My husband and I quickly realized that a complete replacement of our old wood-burning fireplace was a major project and that we needed to hire a general contractor to oversee all aspects of the work. Thankfully, we did. Home remodeling projects often uncover unexpected and/or hidden problems in the existing structure and our project was no exception. Eddie’s excellent project management, expert construction knowledge, and stellar work crew managed to solve all of these difficult and unexpected problems without breaking our budget and left us with a beautiful new gas-burning fireplace that includes 15 feet of new stone work up the wall.
In addition, Eddie and every single member of his team were friendly, knowledgeable/expert and always client-oriented and helpful. Eddie himself is highly engaging, a delight to work with, and a wealth of knowledge both regarding his business specialty and the Truckee/Tahoe environs and is an outdoor enthusiast. Preserving a mountain ethic of both aesthetics and high construction standards seems important to him and his team.
It’s a bit daunting to hire a company/team to work on a major project–as one wants to ensure a high quality of service at a reasonable cost. After interviewing a number of general contractors prior to starting our job, it was clear to us that we likely chose a good team with the Visser Group.
